Recommend your favourite books
I got a lovely surprise this week. I discovered that my picture book Tiger Tale had been chosen for inclusion in the Women’s Writes list of recommended children’s books.
Women’s Writes is a female-led online book club. It champions female authors, support independently-run bookshops and publishers, and brings women together from across the world.
I felt proud and humbled by this news; proud that my self-published picture book was sitting in the same list as titles including Princess Smartypants and Rosie Revere, Engineer and humbled that people had taken the trouble to recommend my book.
Authors love recommendations – and they’re great for readers too. You can share your love of a particular book and, because you’ve taken the trouble to give your opinion, that book could become someone else’s favourite too.
There are some great sites to help you share your love of reading:
- Goodreads is the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations. It aims to help people find and share books they love.
- Toppsta is the UK’s largest online community entirely dedicated to reviewing children’s books. It encourages reviews and recommendations from children and adults and features regular book giveaways.
I’d love to know what you think of my book so please click on the links below to leave a review:
